Whether you are blogging for online income or for affiliate marketing purposes, you need to understand how to write an effective post. Otherwise your blog won’t get the traffic you want and you’ll end up failing to achieve your ultimate goal.

Here are some tips:

* Make the copy informative - Don’t just write fluff that no one cares about. Make your posts interesting and informative so your audience will want to come back for more.

* Use links - Audiences love links but so do search engines. If you can add links throughout your posts in ways that make sense and that will be useful to readers, then you should do well.

* Add bulleted lists - Paragraphs are boring to read. People want to scan your post in a couple of seconds and move on to the next page. The bulleted list is key to keeping them engaged.

* Engaging headlines - If you read the news, you know it’s the headlines you look at. Make them interesting enough to draw in readers but don’t give away everything or readers will just keep moving.

* Keep it short - Most blog posts today are between 300 to 500 words in length. That’s too long. Keep it to 250 words or less if you want your audience’s attention.

* Use advertising carefully - Banner advertising and Amazon affiliate links are great ways to earn cash through your blog but you don’t want to overwhelm readers with your push for cash. Keep ads to a minimum and use affiliate marketing links only when they are appropriate.

These tips will help you write better blogs and pull bigger audience.
